Jeffrey L. Smith, DC, LCPAA
Jeffrey L. Smith, DC earned a Chiropractic Doctorate from Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, Texas. Prior to becoming the Executive Director for Therapeutic Family Life, Jef served as the Director of Operations for the agency and has been with our agency since July, 1994, in the Corporate office.
Leon Smith, BS, MS, LPC, LSOTP, LMFT, LCPAA
Leon and his wife, Virginia, founded Therapeutic Family Life in July, 1993. Leon has a M.S. Degree in Applied Psychology from McNeese University and a B.S. Degree from Lamar State University. He possesses licensing as a Professional Counselor, Child-Placing Agency Administrator and Sex Offender Treatment Provider. In addition, Leon is certified in chemical dependency counseling, alcohol/drug abuse and neurofeedback.
Virginia and her husband, Leon, founded Therapeutic Family Life in July, 1993. Virginia has served as Executive Administrator since 1993 and currently assists in providing foster parent trainings and staff trainings.
Melissa Rodriguez, BS, LCPAA
Director of Quality Assurance
Melissa earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas State University. She is a Licensed Child Placing Agency Administrator with 19 years of professional experience in childcare services and administrative experience. Melissa is responsible for monitoring all day-to-day operations in conjunction with the Executive Director and is the direct supervisor for the Program Coordinators in each branch office.
Foster Care Specialist
Thad has 20+ years experience in the foster care field. Thad and Leon Smith created a specialized program for adolescent males in need of treatment for sexualized behaviors. He now works with each office intake worker to find appropriate homes for high risk, teen males.
Pamela Royal, BS, LCPAA
Arlington Program Coordinator
Pamela earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She has been with Therapeutic Family Life since 2002 and has served as the Program Coordinator for Arlington since 2004.
Cynthia Herrera, BS
San Antonio Program Coordinator
Cynthia received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix. Cynthia has been employed with TFL for ten years and has been the Program Coordinator for the San Antonio office for the past 4 years.
Kody Latiolais, BS
Triangle Program Coordinator
Kody received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Lamar University. Kody has used his skills and experience in several different capacities during his more than 20 years with TFL, which include Case Manager and Foster Home Developer. He has been the Program Coordinator for South East Texas since October 2020.
Houston Program Coordinator
Denise has been a TFL employee since August of 1999. Prior to becoming the Houston Program Coordinator in March of 2021, she served as a Coordinator Assistant as well as working with foster families and TFL staff as an Intake worker for several of the TFL office locations.
Susan Rickerman, MS, BS, LCPAA
Quality Assurance Supervisor
Susan earned a M.S. Degree in Criminal Justice from Lamar University and a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University. She is a Licensed Child Placing Agency Administrator and works with all our branch offices to assist in areas of compliance and support as needed. She has over 9 years of experience in childcare services.
Shannon Kammer, BA, LMSW
Director of Training Development
Shannon earned a MSSW Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas and a B.A. Degree in Psychology from Southwest Texas State University. Shannon works with all our branch offices to assist in areas of training development. She has 30 years of experience in foster care and has been a Case Manager, Program Coordinator, CPMS, Foster Home Developer, and Adoption worker for Therapeutic family Life.
Lauren Haley, BS
Temple Program Coordinator
Lauren received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas State University. She has been with Therapeutic Family Life since 2014 and has held the positions of Case Manager, Foster Home Developer and Child Placement Management Specialist. Lauren became the Temple Program Coordinator in January, 2022.
Carlie Smith, BS, LCPAA
Director of Marketing & Social Media
Carlie received a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from Lamar University. She has been with Therapeutic Family Life since 1994. Prior to taking on the responsibilities of Marketing and Social Media, Carlie held the positions of Office Manager, Clinical Records, Program Coordinator, Director of Training Development and Child Placement Management Specialist with Therapeutic Family Life.
